Great British Insulation Scheme

The Great British Insulation Scheme (GBIS), formerly ECO+, was a government energy-efficiency scheme administered by Ofgem (Office of Gas and Electricity Markets) that placed obligations on medium and large energy suppliers to deliver mainly single insulation measures in eligible less efficient homes in Great Britain. GOV.UK says the eligibility-checking service has closed and installations had to be complete by 31 March 2026, so the label is now most likely to appear in older applications, supplier records, TrustMark lodgements, retrofit assessments and complaints guidance. It is separate from ECO4 (Energy Company Obligation 4), which uses a wider whole-house approach, and it is not MCS certification, DNO approval, planning permission, building regulations sign-off, a product warranty, heat pump design evidence or a current funding promise.
