Handover settings and user controls

Handover settings and user controls are the customer-facing settings, schedules and control interfaces explained when a heat pump or heating-control system is commissioned and handed over. They can include room-temperature set points, time schedules, programmers, thermostats, heat-pump controller menus, weather compensation or heat-curve settings and app controls that affect normal operation. MCS heat pump guidance says user interface controls should be simple to use and well explained to the end user, while handover material should show the customer how to use and control the system. These settings are product-specific and should be read with the user manual, handover pack and commissioning records. They are not proof of correct design, comfort, lower bills, warranty cover, DNO approval, MCS certification or permission to change installer-only parameters.
