Heat curve

A heat curve is a weather-compensation setting that links outdoor temperature to the heating flow temperature a heat pump or controller should target.
A heat curve is the weather-compensation curve used by a heat pump controller to decide the heating flow temperature for a given outdoor temperature. The curve normally raises the target flow temperature in colder weather and lowers it in milder weather, so the heating circuit can match the building's heat demand without always running at the maximum design temperature. The term is not a room thermostat setting, a heat loss calculation, an emitter design, an installer instruction or proof that the heating system is correctly commissioned.
