Heat load

Heat load is the heating demand a system must meet at a given set of design conditions, normally calculated room by room and expressed in watts or kilowatts. In MCS heat pump design, heat load calculations use property details such as building specification, room dimensions and design temperatures, and they influence heat pump selection, emitter output and design flow temperature. It is not the same as annual energy use, a heat loss report, an EPC rating, a running-cost estimate, a comfort guarantee or proof that every survey assumption is correct.
