Heat loss report

Also known as heat loss calculation report, heat load report, heat load calculation report

A heat loss report is the document or exported report from a heat loss or heat load calculation, used to show the heat demand assumptions behind a heat pump design.

A heat loss report is the saved document, printout or exported report from a room-by-room heat loss or heat load calculation for a property. In heat pump work, MCS describes heat load calculations as BS EN 12831-1:2017 compliant calculations required by MIS 3005-D, using inputs such as building specification, room dimensions and design temperatures. It is not a measured energy bill, an EPC, a guarantee of running cost, a heating-performance promise or proof that every assumption was correct.
