HIES (Home Insulation and Energy Systems) is a consumer-protection scheme for businesses installing renewable energy and home energy efficiency products in domestic properties.

HIES (Home Insulation and Energy Systems) is a CTSI (Chartered Trading Standards Institute) approved consumer-code scheme for businesses that install renewable energy and home energy efficiency products in domestic properties. A HIES reference can point to member rules, installer accreditation, deposit or stage-payment protection, insurance-backed guarantees, advice, mediation and ombudsman access. It is separate from MCS certification, TrustMark registration, Building Regulations approval, DNO notification or approval, grant eligibility, product warranty cover, export-tariff registration, EV chargepoint approval and proof that a specific installation is suitable or correctly designed.
