Hot water cylinder

Also known as DHW cylinder, domestic hot water cylinder

A hot water cylinder is an insulated storage vessel that holds domestic hot water for taps, showers and baths until it is needed.

A hot water cylinder is an insulated vessel that stores domestic hot water for household outlets such as taps, showers and baths. It is not the same as domestic hot water itself, a buffer vessel, thermal store, immersion heater, boiler, heat pump or proof that the system is correctly sized, grant-eligible, safe, compliant or able to meet every household hot-water pattern.
