Hybrid heat pump systems

Hybrid heat pump systems combine a heat pump with a supplementary heat source, often a gas, oil or LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) boiler, so the controls can use the heat pump, the other heat source or both depending on the design. In UK home energy paperwork, the term appears around heat-pump design notes, MCS documents, bivalent points, controller settings and Boiler Upgrade Scheme eligibility.
