Import MPAN

Also known as Import Meter Point Administration Number, Import MPAN

An import MPAN is the electricity-supply identifier used for electricity imported from the grid at a property.

An import MPAN is the MPAN for the electricity supply point where a property takes electricity from the distribution network. In industry records, the MPAN Core is the 13-digit reference for a metering point, while energy bills can show it as part of a longer supply-number block. It is separate from a supplier account number, meter serial number and export MPAN. Home energy paperwork may ask for the import MPAN in connection applications, EV chargepoint or heat-pump forms, supplier account changes, smart-meter checks and export registration, because it identifies the existing grid supply rather than a particular piece of equipment. The number does not provide DNO approval, export-tariff registration, MCS certification, meter compatibility, available capacity, import limit, product suitability or whole-installation compliance.
