Import rate
An import rate is the price charged for each kilowatt hour of electricity a household imports from the grid under its energy tariff.
Import rate is the unit price charged for imported electricity, usually shown in pence per kilowatt hour on an energy bill, supplier app, tariff table or contract terms. It may be a single rate, a peak and off-peak rate or a half-hourly smart-tariff rate depending on the tariff and meter setup. The label is separate from a standing charge, fixed direct-debit payment, total bill, export rate, export tariff, import MPAN, meter reading, smart-meter data route, price-cap outcome, device-control setting and proof of lower running costs.
