Inverter start-up voltage is the DC PV input voltage a solar or hybrid inverter needs before it can start operating from a string.

Inverter start-up voltage is the DC voltage a solar, string or hybrid inverter needs at its PV input before it can start operating from a string. It is usually listed in volts on inverter datasheets beside maximum PV voltage, MPPT voltage range, input current and short-circuit current. The value helps explain why a proposed PV string needs enough module voltage and light to reach the inverter's start threshold, but it is separate from the normal MPPT tracking window, the absolute maximum DC input limit, export capacity, type-test status, DNO approval and MCS certification.
