LFP
Also known as LiFePO4
LFP, also written LiFePO4, is a lithium-ion battery chemistry used in home battery storage systems.
LFP is a lithium-ion battery chemistry in which the positive electrode uses LFP rather than a cobalt or nickel-based material. The chemistry does not determine the usable capacity, power output, charge limit, discharge limit or warranty allowance of a particular battery. LFP cells are associated with long cycle life, good thermal stability and high current capability, which is why the chemistry is often presented positively in storage product literature. Those advantages still depend on the product design, BMS, operating temperature, charge and discharge rates and manufacturer warranty conditions.
