Load shedding
Load shedding is the deliberate switching off or disconnection of selected electrical loads so a supply, backup output or connection stays within its limits.
Load shedding is the deliberate switching off, disconnection or holding-off of selected electrical loads, meaning equipment or circuits that are using power. In home energy documents it usually appears where a battery backup output, EV chargepoint group, heat-pump circuit check, energy-management control or G100 (Engineering Recommendation G100) customer limitation scheme has to stop some demand from exceeding a supply or backup limit. It is related to curtailment and dynamic load balancing, but it normally means removing selected load rather than merely slowing a charger or reducing solar output.
