Local API
Also known as Local application programming interface
A local API (application programming interface) is a software interface that lets authorised apps or controllers exchange data with equipment over the property's local network.
A local API (application programming interface) is a software interface that lets authorised apps, controllers or services exchange data with equipment over the property's local network rather than through a manufacturer's cloud platform. In home energy systems it may appear around inverter monitoring, battery gateways, EV chargers, smart meters, heat pump controllers or home automation systems. A local API can be read-only or can allow limited control, depending on the product, login rights and network settings.
