Loft insulation

Loft insulation is insulation fitted at loft or roof-space level, usually above the top-floor ceiling or between roof rafters, to reduce heat loss through the roof area.

Loft insulation is insulation fitted at loft or roof-space level, usually above the top-floor ceiling or between roof rafters, to reduce heat loss through the roof area. It is a building-fabric measure, not proof that the loft is dry, ventilated or safely boarded, that the roof structure is suitable for solar panels, that cable routes or service penetrations have been correctly sealed, that planning or Building Regulations requirements are met, that DNO approval is in place or that MCS certification has been achieved.
