Maximum import capacity is the agreed upper limit on the rate of electricity a property connection may import from the distribution network.

Maximum import capacity is the connection-level import allowance that caps the rate of electricity a property, installation or controlled load arrangement may take from the distribution network. It is normally stated in amps, kVA or kW and can appear in DNO connection paperwork, connection offers, connection agreements, G100 customer limitation schemes, EV chargepoint or heat pump connection forms, battery grid-charging designs and handover packs. The figure is about the maximum permitted import rate at the connection point, not total imported kWh, maximum demand, the main-fuse rating, a supplier tariff, export capacity or the input rating of one device.
