Maximum input current

Maximum input current is the highest current that a specified inverter input is designed to accept, usually shown in amps on a solar or hybrid inverter datasheet. It is normally read per PV input, string or MPPT tracker, rather than as a whole-system output rating. The value helps show whether a proposed PV string sits within the inverter's input limits, but it is separate from maximum short-circuit current, MPPT voltage range, AC output current, battery charge and discharge current, export limits and DNO approval.
