MCS compliance certificate

Also known as MCS certificate

An MCS compliance certificate is the MCS certificate that records a certified renewable or low-carbon installation after it has been designed, installed and commissioned under the MCS scheme.

An MCS compliance certificate is the MCS certificate for a renewable or low-carbon installation completed by an MCS certified installer using MCS certified products. MCS says the certificate is proof that the installation has been designed, installed and commissioned to industry-recognised standards, but also says it is not a mandatory legal requirement for installing the system. The certificate may appear in the handover pack, SEG (Smart Export Guarantee) applications, grant paperwork, property records, certificate-copy requests or amendment requests. It records the MCS installation certification position at the time of commissioning. It is not the same as building regulations certification, DNO notification or approval, export MPAN registration, a product warranty, a service record or a guarantee of access to an incentive scheme.
