MCS installation standards
MCS installation standards are the MCS technical rules that describe how certified contractors should design, install, commission and hand over eligible small-scale renewable or low-carbon systems.
MCS installation standards are the technology-specific and scheme documents used in MCS certification for eligible small-scale renewable or low-carbon installations. They set requirements for MCS certified contractors and certification bodies, including how solar PV, battery storage and heat pump work is designed, installed, commissioned and handed over under the scheme. They are not the same as building regulations, electrical certificates, DNO notification or approval, planning permission, product warranties, supplier export-tariff registration or EV chargepoint installation rules.
