MCS is the UK quality mark and certification scheme for small-scale renewable and low-carbon systems such as solar PV, heat pumps and battery storage.
MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) is the UK quality mark and standards-based certification scheme for small-scale renewable and low-carbon systems. MCS certification covers products, installers and installations through product standards, installation standards and consumer protection requirements. In home energy paperwork, MCS may appear on installer searches, product certification records, installation certificates, Boiler Upgrade Scheme applications, SEG (Smart Export Guarantee) applications and handover packs. It is a scheme and certification label, not planning permission, Building Regulations approval, DNO notification or approval, export MPAN registration, supplier export-tariff acceptance, product warranty cover or proof that a standalone EV chargepoint is MCS certified.
