MIS 3005 heat pump standard

Also known as MIS 3005, The Heat Pump Standard, MIS 3005-D, MIS 3005-I

MIS 3005 is the MCS heat pump standard family for MCS certified heat pump contractors, split into design and installation standards under MCS:2025.

MIS 3005 is the MCS heat pump standard family used for MCS certified heat pump work. Under MCS:2025, the heat pump standard is split into MIS 3005-D for design and MIS 3005-I for installation, set-to-work, commissioning and handover of microgeneration heat pump systems supplying permanent buildings with space heating, domestic hot water or both. The standards cover air source, ground source and water source heat pumps within stated MCS capacity limits, including a 45 kWth (kilowatts thermal) single-heat-pump limit and a 70 kWth total design heat-load limit for multiple heat pumps. MIS 3005 appears in installer accreditation, design records, commissioning checks, handover packs, grant paperwork and MCS certification records. It is a versioned MCS heat-pump design and installation standard, not an MCS certificate, product certificate, MCS 020 noise assessment, Boiler Upgrade Scheme approval, Building Regulations sign-off, DNO approval, planning permission, warranty cover, grant eligibility proof or proof that a heat pump design is suitable for a specific property.
