M.P.A.N. Core / MPAN Core

MPAN Core is the 13-digit part of an MPAN that acts as the reference or key for a particular electricity metering point in industry systems. Elexon describes it as the combination of the distribution identifier, unique reference number and check digit within the full MPAN structure. In home energy work, this core reference may be the number requested on DNO, supplier or export-registration material when the process needs the electricity supply point, although bills and supplier pages may show it inside a longer supply-number block beginning with S. It identifies the metering point, not the physical meter, supplier account, import or export tariff, DNO approval, connection agreement, MCS certificate, available import capacity, export capacity or product warranty.
