Nominal power

Nominal power is the rated power level a device is designed to deliver under stated normal or reference conditions, usually shown in watts (W) or kilowatts (kW). On solar and hybrid inverter datasheets it may appear as AC nominal output, nominal AC output power or nominal output power for a grid or backup output. It is not the same as peak power, maximum apparent power, battery capacity, export capacity or the power available to every circuit in a property, so the number should be read with the product's voltage, current, temperature, backup-output and grid-connection limits.
