Off-peak rate

Off-peak rate is the unit price that applies during the off-peak period of a multi-rate or time-of-use electricity tariff, usually shown in pence per kilowatt hour on electricity bills, smart-meter pages, supplier apps or tariff terms. It is often a cheaper overnight import rate, such as on Economy 7, but the exact times, meter registers and eligibility depend on the tariff, supplier, location and meter setup. The label is separate from the off-peak period itself, a standing charge, total bill, export rate, smart-meter reading, DCC data route, battery or EV charging schedule, heat-pump control setting and proof that the household will save money.
