Operating mode

Operating mode is the selected or reported state that tells a home energy device, controller or monitoring portal which behaviour is active. In home energy products it can describe inverter and battery modes such as eco, timed charge, timed discharge or self-use, EV chargepoint modes such as fast, eco or stop, heat-pump space-heating or cooling modes and status indications such as standby, operation or malfunction. The meaning is product-specific, so read the label with the manual, app screen and commissioned settings.
