Over-the-air update
Also known as OTA update, Remote firmware update, Remote online firmware update
An OTA (over-the-air) update is a software or firmware update delivered to compatible home energy equipment through a network connection rather than a local USB (Universal Serial Bus) file or service tool.
An OTA (over-the-air) update is a remote software or firmware update delivered to compatible equipment through an internet, app or portal connection. In solar and battery systems it can appear around inverter firmware, battery firmware, gateway software, Wi-Fi dongle chipset updates or monitoring-platform support notes when a manufacturer tool downloads and installs the update without a local USB (Universal Serial Bus) file.
