P1 port

A P1 port is a local smart-meter data port used on some DSMR (Dutch Smart Meter Requirements) meters to send consumption and export readings to a connected monitoring device.

P1 port means a local end-consumer data interface on some smart meters, especially DSMR (Dutch Smart Meter Requirements) meters in the Netherlands, Belgium and nearby European markets. It can send meter telegrams with electricity import, electricity export, power, tariff and connected gas or water meter readings to a compatible P1 device, app, gateway or home energy management system. It is separate from a Great Britain smart-meter HAN (home area network), CAD (consumer access device), DCC (Data Communications Company) network message, supplier bill, export MPAN setup, SEG acceptance, DNO approval, MCS certification, local API (application programming interface) access and permission to alter meter wiring or commissioned equipment settings.
