Peak power

Peak power is the highest power level a device, output or operating mode is specified to deliver under stated peak conditions, usually for a limited period rather than continuously. On inverter and battery-system documents it may appear beside continuous output, nominal output, apparent power, current, temperature and battery-charge limits. The value should be read with the manufacturer's time, temperature, voltage, current, grid and backup-output conditions; it is not the same as nominal power, maximum apparent power, solar-array size, battery capacity, export capacity or permission to run every appliance.
