Performance warranty

A performance warranty is the part of a solar PV module warranty that promises a minimum retained power level after defined years under the warranty's stated conditions. It is usually tied to the module's rated power under standard test conditions, with documents describing a first-year allowance, annual degradation rate or retained-output percentage near the end of the warranty term. It should be read with the product warranty, installation and use conditions, exclusions, measurement method and claim process. It is not the same as an MCS performance estimate, panel degradation, module efficiency, actual annual generation, inverter output, household savings, DNO acceptance, export eligibility, installation quality or proof that a warranty claim will be accepted.
