Planning Portal

Planning Portal is an online planning and building control service where people can read guidance, check common project rules and submit many planning-consent or building-control applications.

Planning Portal is an online planning and building control service, not the local planning authority that decides a planning application. It publishes common-project guidance, includes a council finder and lets users submit most planning-consent applications online. After payment is confirmed, Planning Portal says the application is passed to the relevant local planning authority for the application process to begin. In home energy work it may appear around solar PV planning checks, heat pump siting, EV chargepoint permitted-development checks, building regulations application routes and location plans. Using Planning Portal does not itself grant planning permission, building regulations approval, listed-building consent, DNO approval, MCS certification or product warranty cover.
