Power export control

Power export control is a control function or setting that limits how much active power a solar inverter, battery system or site controller can send from a property to the distribution network. It usually uses a meter, CT clamp or power meter near the point of connection to measure import and export, then reduces inverter output, changes battery behaviour or adjusts another controllable device when export would exceed the set threshold. The phrase can appear in inverter manuals, export-power-manager screens, EMS settings, G100 evidence, commissioning records and handover packs. It describes the equipment control function, not the DNO-agreed export limit, a connection agreement, exported kWh, an export MPAN, a supplier export tariff or permission to change commissioned settings.
