Power optimiser

Also known as Power optimizer, Solar power optimiser, PV optimiser, PV optimizer, Module-level power optimiser

A power optimiser is solar PV module-level electronics that adjusts DC output from a panel or small module group before it reaches a string inverter.

A power optimiser is solar PV module-level electronics, usually fitted to one module or a small group of modules, that adjusts DC voltage and current so the connected string inverter can work closer to the module's best available operating point. It is different from a microinverter because it does not normally convert the module output to AC at the panel.
