Pre-installation EICR

Also known as pre installation EICR

A Pre-installation EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) is a condition report on the existing fixed electrical installation before proposed home energy work.

A Pre-installation EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) is an EICR requested before new home energy equipment is connected. It checks the existing fixed electrical installation, rather than certifying the new solar panels, battery storage, an EV chargepoint or a heat pump. The report can record consumer-unit condition, earthing, bonding, existing circuits or inspection limitations that matter before the proposed work. It is separate from the Electrical Installation Certificate for new fixed wiring work, DNO approval, MCS certification, Building Regulations completion evidence, product warranty cover and export-tariff registration.
