Retrofit battery storage

Retrofit battery storage means adding a battery storage system to a property that already has PV generation, an electrical connection, metering, controls or other equipment in place.

Retrofit battery storage is the addition of a battery storage system to an existing property or existing PV installation rather than fitting the battery as part of a new complete system. It is a project-scope label, not proof that the existing inverter is compatible, the export route is approved, G98 (Engineering Recommendation G98) notification or G99 (Engineering Recommendation G99) application duties are complete, MCS certification applies, warranties carry over, backup circuits are installed or the battery will lower bills.
