A rotary isolator is an isolation switch with a rotating handle, used to disconnect an electrical supply from equipment or a circuit rather than proving the installation is safe.

A rotary isolator is an isolation switch operated by a rotating handle or knob, usually with marked off and on positions. In home energy paperwork it may appear as an AC or DC isolator beside solar PV, battery, EV charging or heat-pump equipment, with the number of poles, current rating, enclosure rating and lockable handle varying by product.
