Scheduled charge

Scheduled charge is a planned battery-charging window set in an app, inverter or energy-management control. It normally uses a start time and end time, and some systems also let the user or installer set a target state of charge or maximum charge state for that window. In a home battery system, a scheduled charge is often used to charge from the grid during an off-peak tariff period or to raise the battery state of charge before later household demand. It is separate from forced charge and grid charging: scheduled charge describes the timetable, forced charge describes an override command and grid charging describes the electricity source. A scheduled charge does not guarantee a full battery, lower bills, backup power or export eligibility. The battery may stop charging when it reaches the configured state of charge, a maximum charge setting or another manufacturer limit.
