Scheduled discharge

Also known as Timed discharge

Scheduled discharge is a planned battery-discharge window set in an app, inverter or energy-management control.

Scheduled discharge is a planned battery-discharge window set in an app, inverter or energy-management control. It tells the system when the battery is allowed or instructed to supply household loads, rather than simply following its normal self-consumption behaviour. The window normally has a start time and end time, and some systems also use a minimum state of charge, discharge cutoff, discharge power setting or reserve limit. In home battery documents it may appear as timed discharge, discharging time, discharge period or part of a time-of-use mode. It is separate from scheduled charge, timed export, tariff mode and backup mode: scheduled discharge describes a discharge window, not the tariff rule, export-payment arrangement or outage function. A scheduled discharge does not guarantee lower bills, export eligibility, whole-home backup or a fixed amount of delivered energy. The battery may not discharge if it is already near its minimum state of charge, if there is no eligible load or if another manufacturer limit has priority.
