Service access

Service access is the practical ability to reach equipment after installation for inspection, operation, maintenance, fault-finding, repair or replacement. In home energy work it can apply to solar arrays, inverters, batteries, EV chargepoints, heat pumps, isolators, meters and cable routes. It is not a universal clearance dimension or a guarantee that maintenance will be straightforward; the required access depends on manufacturer instructions, electrical and building-safety requirements, planning constraints and the property layout.
