Service head
Also known as Cut-out
Service-head wording refers to the distributor or supplier intake equipment where the service cable and main supply fuse meet the property, not proof that the supply can support extra load.
A service head is the distributor or supplier intake equipment at the property where the incoming electricity service cable terminates and where the cut-out or main supply fuse is housed. It is normally in the meter area, close to meter tails, metering equipment and any means of isolation, rather than inside the consumer unit. The term may appear on electrical inspection reports, supply-capacity discussions, EV charger paperwork, inverter or heat-pump notes and survey photographs.
