Smart Charge Points Regulations

The Smart Charge Points Regulations are the UK rules for many EV charge points sold in Great Britain for private domestic or workplace use. They require covered charge points and smart charging cables to include smart functionality, which means they can send and receive information and respond to signals by changing the charging time or rate. The rules also set device-level requirements such as electricity supplier interoperability, off-peak default charging, a randomised delay, safety, measuring, security, assurance and sales-register obligations.
