Soakaway

A soakaway is a drainage feature that lets rainwater, surface water or heat pump condensate soak into suitable ground instead of flowing straight to a watercourse or sewer.

A soakaway is a drainage feature that lets rainwater, surface water or heat pump condensate soak into suitable ground. It is part of site drainage, not proof of structural suitability, planning permission, Building Regulations compliance, DNO approval or MCS certification.
