Telemetry
Telemetry is automatically measured or reported data sent from equipment, sensors or controls to an app, portal, API (application programming interface) or service for monitoring, analysis or system control.
Telemetry is data that a device, sensor or controller measures or reports and sends to another system for monitoring, analysis or system control. In home energy systems it can include solar inverter output, battery state of charge, EV charger meter values, temperatures, grid status, alarms, connection state or heat-pump operating data, depending on the product and permissions. Telemetry may travel through a data logger, Wi-Fi dongle, gateway, cloud API (application programming interface), local API (application programming interface), OCPP backend or manufacturer monitoring portal.
