Three-phase supply upgrades
Also known as three phase upgrade
A three-phase supply upgrade is a change to an existing electricity connection so the property can use a three-phase supply or higher three-phase capacity.
A three-phase supply upgrade is a DNO change that moves an existing property from a single-phase supply to a three-phase supply, or increases the available capacity on an existing three-phase connection. It may involve network-owned equipment such as the service cable or cut-out, and is separate from the energy supplier meter exchange and from the customer-side electrical installation. In home energy work, the term can appear when proposed loads, exports, extra meters or high-power equipment such as EV chargers, heat pumps and solar PV equipment need more capacity than the known supply can provide.
