Tilt

Tilt is the angle of a solar PV module or array from the horizontal plane, usually stated in degrees.

Tilt is the angle of a solar PV module, roof face or array from the horizontal plane, usually stated in degrees. Solar documents may also call it slope or inclination. In home solar paperwork it appears beside orientation or azimuth in performance estimates, survey notes, layout drawings, monitoring tools and handover information because it changes how much sunlight reaches the modules through the year. It is not the same as roof orientation, azimuth, shading, array layout, string layout, roof suitability, structural suitability, planning permission, DNO acceptance, annual generation, export eligibility, savings or proof that an installation is correctly designed.
