Time-of-use battery arbitrage

Time-of-use battery arbitrage means using a home battery to shift grid electricity from lower-price tariff periods to higher-price household-use periods.

Time-of-use battery arbitrage means using a home battery schedule or automatic control to charge from grid electricity during lower-price tariff periods and discharge later when household import would otherwise be charged at a higher rate. It depends on the tariff windows, half-hourly meter data where required, round-trip losses, usable capacity, charge and discharge limits, state-of-charge settings, household demand and the supplier's terms. It is separate from grid charging, scheduled charge, scheduled discharge, timed export and tariff stacking: those terms describe the electricity source, control window, export action or wider tariff interaction.
