Type 2 cable
A Type 2 cable is an EV charging lead used with Type 2 AC charging equipment, usually as the separate lead between a socketed chargepoint and a vehicle with a compatible inlet.
A Type 2 cable is an EV charging lead used for Mode 3 AC charging through Type 2 charging equipment. In UK home, workplace and public AC charging, the term usually describes the separate cable plugged into a Type 2 socket on an untethered chargepoint, although a tethered charger may also have a fixed Type 2 plug. The vehicle end still has to match the vehicle inlet, and the cable's current and phase capability can be one of the limits on the charging session.
