Type 2 connector
A Type 2 connector is the AC EV connector standard used on many UK and European home and public chargepoints, charging cables and vehicle inlets.
A Type 2 connector is the standardised Type 2 AC EV plug, socket, vehicle connector or vehicle inlet used to connect a compatible chargepoint, cable and vehicle for Mode 3 fixed-chargepoint charging. In UK home and public charging, Type 2 appears on socketed chargepoints, tethered charger plugs, charging cables and the upper AC part of many CCS (Combined Charging System) vehicle inlets. The label describes the physical AC connector standard, not the complete charging session.
