Type B RCD
A Type B RCD is a residual current device type intended to operate with AC, pulsating DC and smooth DC residual currents in suitable AC installations.
A Type B RCD is a residual current device type intended to operate where residual currents may include AC, pulsating DC and smooth DC components. BEAMA describes Type B RCDs as operating for Type F conditions and additionally for residual alternating currents up to 1 kHz, alternating currents superimposed on smooth DC, pulsating rectified DC from two or more phases and residual smooth DC. In home-energy paperwork, the label can appear around EV charging, PV equipment, heat pumps, inverter-fed equipment, UPS equipment and certificate RCD-type fields.
