Ultra-rapid charging

Ultra-rapid charging is high-power EV charging at the upper end of public charging speeds, usually from DC chargepoints used on en-route sites and charging hubs. GOV.UK public charging statistics treat 150 kW and above as ultra-rapid, while some UK guidance uses 100 kW and above in typical charging-time tables, so the threshold should be read in the context of the document using it. The label describes chargepoint power, not a guaranteed charging time. The vehicle's DC charging limit, connector, battery state of charge, battery temperature, charge curve, site load sharing and charger output can all limit the power used during a session.
