Vehicle-to-load is an EV function that lets a compatible vehicle battery supply electricity to a connected load, usually through a vehicle socket or adaptor, rather than sending power to a home installation or the grid.

Vehicle-to-load, often shortened to V2L, is an EV function that lets a compatible vehicle battery supply electricity to a connected load such as a portable appliance, tool, e-bike charger or camping device. It normally uses a vehicle socket, built-in three-pin outlet or adaptor rather than an installed bidirectional chargepoint feeding the home or exporting to the grid. V2L sits within the wider V2X vocabulary because energy is leaving the vehicle, but it is narrower than vehicle-to-home and vehicle-to-grid.
